The 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards are taking place right now – Sunday (February 23) – at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
So many stars are in attendance, however, lots of stars seemed to have skipped the show!

Reason Why? Gascon has been skipping every awards season event since her controversial tweets resurfaced.
Jonathan Bailey – Skipped
Reason Why? We’re assuming Jonathan skipped due to his busy schedule. He’s currently starring in a London production of Richard II, and while he has Sundays off, it would be quite a bit of travel time to fly from London to Los Angeles and back!
Allison Janney – Skipped
Reason Why? Unclear, but Allison was not shown on screen when the nominees in her category were announced.
Jean Smart – Skipped
Reason Why? When she won the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series award for her performance in Hacks, it was confirmed Jean Smart was not in attendance because she was busy shooting on location elsewhere.
Javier Bardem – Skipped
Reason Why? Unclear. Stay tuned as we learn more.
Martin Short – Skipped
Reason Why? Steve Martin confirmed on Instagram that Martin Short came down with COVID after attending SNL50. We’re assuming this is why he did not attend.
Cate Blanchett – Skipped
Reason Why? Unclear. Stay tuned as we learn more.
Ayo Edebiri – Skipped
Reason Why? Unclear, especially because she was at another event just last night!
Kevin Kline – Skipped
