Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav failed to get going against England in the first T20I of the five-match series at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on Wednesday, January 22. Batting at number three and arriving into the middle after the fall of Sanju Samson, the T20 expert faced just a couple of deliveries off Jofra Archer before top-edging one towards England wicketkeeper Phil Salt.
Making his way back to the dugout without scoring a run, Suryakumar recorded the fourth duck of his 79-match T20I career for Team India.
Suryakumar Yadav fails in small chase for India
Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed for a three-ball duck by tearaway English paceman Jofra Archer inside the opening powerplay. The 34-year-old made his way into the middle following the wicket of a raging Sanju Samson in the fifth over of the Indian innings, before he became Archer’s second victim of the over as the ‘Men in Blue’ slipped to 41-2 in a chase of 133.
